The 24 Games of Christmas! Day #5: Disney Infinity

The tree is up, the lights are on, the stockings are over the fireplace and everyone's getting into the eggnog. It's Christmas and it's the best time of year.

Nothing beats Christmas; it's the time for fun and play, for family and friends. It's the chance to get away from work and reset the batteries. And, of course, it's the perfect time to knock off some of those games that you just haven't been able to get around to.

As is tradition for Digitally Downloaded we're going to count down the 24 games of Christmas - one a day for each day from December 1 through to December 24. The fun, the silly and the crazy, these games have been custom picked by the DDNet editorial team to give you plenty of ideas for stocking fillers, games to play with family and friends on Christmas Eve, or games you should use the extra time over the holiday to get stuck into.

Disney Infinity Toy Box on iOS; everyone (including Nintendo) should pay attention to this

Over the last couple of weeks Disney has released a few "companion apps" to its rather wonderful Disney Infinity console game.

The first of these was a little throwaway. Action! Was clearly designed for kids who have been dragged away on a trip and whose parents didn't want to spend money buying the woeful 3DS version of Disney Infinity. But the second app, released just a few days ago, is a text book case study in the kinds of second screen experiences that everyone (yes, you too, Nintendo), need to be working on for their own games.

Review: Disney Infinity (Wii U)

When it came time to head down to the local game store and pick up my copy of Disney Infinity, the only platform that made sense to me was the Nintendo Wii U. Not because the Gamepad is used in any special way (it isn't), but for the same reason that the same magic that made Disney such a special company when Walt was in charge is the magic that makes Nintendo games so compelling.

Disney Infinity is going mobile, too

Disney Infinity is one of the more interesting games on the way from the House of Mickey. It's a Skylanders clone in theory, where players will use physical miniatures of a range of Disney properties to summon characters into their console for play.
