Various Problems With Blog Owners Using Internet Explorer V11

We're seeing a few browser related problems, possibly related to a recent update of Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer, reported in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken.
I can't see my dashboard!
and
I can't upload pictures - all that I get is a blank box!
and
I am receiving messages, when I log in, that my Internet Explorer is not compatible with Blogger.
Too many blog owners use Internet Explorer for using Blogger - and automatically accept updates, applied by Windows Update.

Right now, Blogger Engineering is in the process of updating Blogger to work with Internet Explorer V11. This is not a minor task - with all of the many Blogger features required by the various blog owners and readers, all of which must be checked for compatibility with each new browser version.

The recent updates of Microsoft Windows, to use Internet Explorer V11, is causing various problems to blog owners and readers.

Blogger Engineering cannot update Blogger, immediately, to work with the new version. While we wait for Blogger to be updated, it's possible that the Microsoft "Compatibility View" setting can help us bypass some of the problems.
  • From the Internet Explorer menu, select "Tools" - "Compatibility View Settings".
  • From the Internet Explorer address bar, click on the "broken page" icon.
  • Type "blogger.com" into "Add this website". Hit "Add", then "Close".
If we can't use "Compatibility Views" to work around the current problem, we have to wait, patiently, until Internet Explorer V11 can be supported, by Blogger.

If we can't wait patiently, we may need to try using another browser with Blogger - at least to diagnose the problem at hand.

Review: Fighter Within (Xbox One)

Fighter Within Ubisoft Fighting GameReview by Nick H.

The decision to keep the Xbox One at at higher price tag in order to include the Kinect 2.0 with the system was a controversial point for Microsoft. On the one hand, it makes sense that Microsoft would want to ensure that this device, which it has heavily invested in, has a 100 per cent install base with its consoles so developers know it is going to be there.

Xbox One Australia head on partnerships over internal development: 'We're not about building empires'

Article by Matt S.

The most interesting difference between Sony (and Nintendo) and Microsoft's approach to the games industry over the years has been the fact that while Sony and Nintendo have been focused on producing or publishing content in-house, Microsoft instead has an active partnering business; and not just around games, but the non-gaming stuff as well. The Xbox One is launching with all kinds of third-party television and entertainment apps in Australia, for instance, while the PlayStation 3 is making a big deal of its internally-developed Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services.

If you consider Microsoft's history in business technology, then the energy it places in partnerships are hardly a surprise. From the simple (until the Surface Pro, Microsoft didn't produce the hardware that its Windows operating system sat on), to the less obvious (Microsoft is actively partnering with developers around the world to build corporate Cloud solutions and jointly taking those to market), Microsoft's history has always been about working with third parties to build a broad offering to market.

Hardware review: the Xbox One

Review by Nick H.

After plenty of build-up over the last half year, both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One have finally released. We took a look at the PlayStation 4 last week, and you can see our review of it here. Now that we have had a chance to put the Xbox One through its paces, it is time to share those early impressions.

Xbox One is live in Australia, and we have the photos to prove it

Microsoft held a party for the dedicated fans of the Xbox (and the media) as it counted down to the midnight launch of the Xbox One in Australia.

This event took place at the iconic Luna Park in Australia, and featured plenty of music, games, and alcohol for all who attended.

Hands on with World Of Tanks Xbox 360 edition

Preview by Matt S.

World Of Tanks is often held up as the pinnacle of free-to-play gaming, as a perfect example of a game that is balanced enough to be profitable for the developer, while not forcing players to shell out real money in order to be competitive.

Having not played the PC game, I can't compare this Xbox 360 version, but then it doesn't really matter because in BETA World Of Tanks Xbox 360 version is a very fine game indeed.

Namco and Brain Slap Studio's Hexodius bolts a hex-based overworld onto a would-be fast paced, spaceship shooter, but does it work?

Vroom Vroom; hands on with Forza 5 (Xbox One)

Preview by Owen S.

The Forza series has provided us with some of the greatest racing experiences that can be had. The perfect, flawless cars felt wondrous to virtually drive as they traversed the tracks that always looked better than anything else the competition was putting up. Lauded by both fans and critics alike for the way they controlled as well as how great they looked, these games pushed the limits of graphical capabilities in the last generation of gaming consoles.

Review: Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360)

Review by Rexly P.

The last time players explored San Andreas was in 2004 with the release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Nine years later, we return to a redefined San Andreas consisting of the urban sprawl of Los Santos and the vast landscapes of Blaine County in Rockstar Games' latest release, Grand Theft Auto V.

Microsoft to Buy Nokia’s Mobile Unit: Emergence of a Third Player in the Mobile Market?

While the Windows Phone is at the number two position (behind Android) in some markets that Apple has not cared to target aggressively, Microsoft has not tasted big success in the mobile market. Tech pundits have given good reviews about Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system, but it has always seemed that Bill Gates came to the smart mobile party a little too late. As Apple and Android dominate the global mobile market with over 90% of market share, the chances of a third player entering the field and competing with these two mobile giants have gotten slimmer and slimmer.

A Quick Glance at Nokia & Microsoft’s Relationship
When Nokia threw its lot with Microsoft and started manufacturing smartphones that run the Windows 7 and 8, many felt that it was a suicidal move. Samsung, one of Nokia’s biggest competitors in the mobile manufacturing, choose Android OS to run its best mobiles and emerged as one of the biggest forces in the mobile market. Nokia was unable to accomplish similar goals using Windows operating system: it dumped Symbian and used Windows 7 operating system for all its top-tier handsets, but was unable to compete with the iPhone or Android devices.

Just a few years back Nokia was respected as the most powerful mobile manufacturer; today, it is not even one of the top three mobile manufactures. Microsoft too suffered from the fact that none of the mobile manufacturers using its operating system could come up with a series of successful handsets. Technology experts and bloggers have expressed one idea since a long time: Microsoft and Nokia are a good fit and by closely partnering with each other, they can emerge as a force to reckon with. By preparing to buy Nokia’s mobile unit, Microsoft has done what many hoped that it would.

Has Microsoft found the Missing Piece of the Mobile Puzzle?
Microsoft Buys Nokia Mobile Unit to Strengthen its Ecosystem

In a purchase that is set to complete by 2014, Microsoft has agreed to buy Nokia’s mobile unit, and it will also buy Nokia’s patents and mapping services in a non-exclusive agreement. The company will pay $ 7.2 billion in cash. The deal is a lifesaver for Nokia, a company that is steadily falling behind its competitors Samsung and Apple. It can also help rejuvenate Microsoft’s mobile image and help the company manufacture flagship mobile handsets that are specifically created for Windows 8.

While Apple has the iPhone and Android has Samsung’s popular devices that can showcase the best features of the mobile operating system and attract customers, Microsoft doesn’t yet have such a hit device for Windows 7 or 8. While people have not dumped PCs or Windows, Microsoft needs to find its way in a world where people are spending less time on PCs and more time on tablets and smartphones. With this deal, Microsoft doesn’t just get the capability to manufacture mobile, but also gets the skills and patents to create a slew of innovative devices that can help its mobile operating system find its feet in a competitive market.

Through the deal with Nokia, Microsoft has all the ingredients that go on into the making of a powerful and effective smartphone ecosystem: a well-conceptualized mobile operating system, devices that are specifically made for the operating system and an app store. Only time will tell if Microsoft has found the missing piece of the puzzle, but if you are a mobile app owner or a developer, the possibility of a third player giving competition to the existing market leaders is exciting.

Impact on Mobile App Development
Microsoft is the only company that has the wherewithal and background to compete with Apple and Android. Nokia still has a huge fan-following in emerging smartphone markets like India, and this will empower Windows 7 and 8 phones to conquer huge chunks of such markets. Just as Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility patents enabled the search giant to manufacture its own devices and safeguarded the future of its operating system, Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s mobile unit will help the company compete more aggressively in the mobile market.

It is notoriously difficult to foretell future in the dynamic mobile market, but the news indicate that Microsoft is going to do all it can to thrive in the world of smart mobiles. We can expect to see a surge in the number of developers building mobile apps for Windows. Also, if the Windows Phone OS gets a bigger market share over the next two years (and it is likely that we will see at least some rise), developers who build apps only for Apple and Android will start building apps for Microsoft as well.

Ready for a Resurgent Windows Phone Operating System?
In the current scenario, most businesses and developers are either building only Apple apps, or they build app for Android and Apple. If Microsoft succeeds in becoming the third player in the mobile market, apps that are already popular on its app store will be the biggest winners. By creating an innovative application Windows Phone OS now, or by creating a Windows Phone version of your existing app, you can profit from a world that has three major mobile operating systems.

Review: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Xbox 360)

Watching the Splinter Cell franchise develop from its Playstation 2 genesis is like watching the very industry itself go through its stages from that generation to the end of this.

Those wonderful, early Splinter Cell games were for their time an incredible achievement in stealth gameplay. Back in the PS2 era developers were producing a wide range of different experiences for the headline game portfolios, and Splinter Cell was in some ways quite experimental. Combining a likable lead hero with some linear levels that always felt open thanks to the variety of ways in which players could approach challenges, the early Splinter Cell games were about as subtle as material gets when it carries the Tom Clancy branding. Here was a set of games that rewarded patience and strategy, while straight-up gun fights rarely ended well.

Brutal Gamer News Wrap: 8/28/13

GTA 5 gives fans a detailed look at a pair of special editions, Dark Cybertron comes to Transformers comics, Assassin's Creed IV's live action trailer is mighty impressive and it's the end of an era as Steve Ballmer announces his retirement.

The new look Xbox One is a marketer's nightmare

As a quick summary for the people that haven't been following the Xbox One that closely; it's a console that was originally announced as always-online, would not play second hand games and required Kinect to work.

Review: Capsized (Xbox 360)

Despite the fact that I never really got into the RPG genre (which deserves an article of its own), I have always loved exploring mysterious new worlds. This doesn’t happen much outside of your Elder Scrolls and Dragon Quests, but games like Super Metroid and Shadow Complex managed to combine some excellent side-scrolling action with the ability (or rather necessity) to traverse uncharted and hostile worlds. In many ways, Capsized feels right at home with these titles.

How to Lock a Folder without Software

Folder lock without any software by using notepad.

Most of us usually have confidential data on our Pc's. It is very important to hide the confidential data in Windows. Some time the data which is really private need to be secured from the third-party.

Although there are some trail versions available for folder lock software but these all come with an expiry period. So these can’t be used after some time. But by using the steps  explained here, you will be able to create a folder which can be locked by password. All the data placed in this folder will be password protected. So you can place all data which you want to hide from other users in this folder. This method works 100% on all versions of Microsoft Windows operating system.

Step by Step Process to Lock a Folder (with video)

1.Open a new notepad.
2.In that copy and paste the below source code.

CODE:
    cls
    :End
    @ECHO OFF
    title Folder Locker
    if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK
    if NOT EXIST Locker goto MDLOCKER
    :CONFIRM
    echo Are you sure u want to Lock the folder(Y/N)
    set/p "cho=>"
    if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
    if %cho%==y goto LOCK
    if %cho%==n goto END
    if %cho%==N goto END
    echo Invalid choice.
    goto CONFIRM
    :LOCK
    ren Locker "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
    attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
    echo Folder locked
    goto End
    :UNLOCK
    echo Enter password to Unlock folder
    set/p "pass=>"
    if NOT %pass%==123456789 goto FAIL
    attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
    ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Locker
    echo Folder Unlocked successfully
    goto End
    :FAIL
    echo Invalid password
    goto end
    :MDLOCKER
    md Locker
    echo Locker created successfully
    goto End
    :End

    3.After you copy the  commanding,you will find this one in the source code:"123456789"(change it with any password you want).In this i used yashu as password.

    For example:
                         if NOT %pass%== alltechtricks goto FAIL

                       //so your password here becomes alltechtricks .//

    4.After that go to Save as… & name this file as locker.bat “. Be sure to change the “Save as type” from “text” to “All Files” :

    5.Now a batch file will appear on the desktop.

    6.Double click on the batch file,now an ms dos prompt will pop out saying
    "ENTER THE PASSWORD TO UNLOCK THE FOLDER".

    7.Now type the password which you have used in the source code.

    8.Now a folder named "LOCKER" will appear on the desktop.

     9.Now drag the file which you want to protect in to the folder.
     10.In order to lock the folder,again double click on the batch file and press  y and your folder will disappear.

     11.Now your folder will be invisible and protected but your batch file will be there.
     12.If you want to unlock it,double click on the batch file  and enter the password.
     13.But by using this there is a risk,one can see the password by right clicking on the bat file and click edit,it will show you the source code which you have used previously.In order to prevent it we use a software named  Bat_To_Exe_Converter.
    14.You can download this by clicking here(click here).
    15.After,downloading it ,you should have a  zip file.Now extract it you will find this.

    16.Now,go into the folder and select the OS i.e either 32-bit or 64-bit.Go into the your bit(i.e 32 or 64 bit).
    Now run the application and a screen will pop up like this.
    16.Now choose the .bat path and click on COMPILE.

    17.Now you see an .exe application on the desktop.
    18.That's it friends now you can delete the .bat file and you can use .exe file Now your private data is totally protected.
          it works good with windows 7,xp,vista.

    NOTE:

    •  It not only hides the folder,But hides all the files and try it without     Also the password it will go to the control panel.
    • Also if you want to store files on pen drive, you can use the script.No software required.

    Video tutorial for How to lock a folder:
