Hands on with World Of Tanks Xbox 360 edition

Preview by Matt S.

World Of Tanks is often held up as the pinnacle of free-to-play gaming, as a perfect example of a game that is balanced enough to be profitable for the developer, while not forcing players to shell out real money in order to be competitive.

Having not played the PC game, I can't compare this Xbox 360 version, but then it doesn't really matter because in BETA World Of Tanks Xbox 360 version is a very fine game indeed.

Review: Blood Knights (Xbox 360)

Review by Nick H.

Blood Knights is one of those games that is a little difficult for me to get a handle on, because I walked away from it feeling as though I enjoyed it more than I probably should have. There are some good ideas, even if none are completely fresh and new. The problem is in the execution, which misses the mark more often than I would have liked.

Review: Hexodius (Xbox 360)

Review by Jason M.

Namco and Brain Slap Studio's Hexodius bolts a hex-based overworld onto a would-be fast paced, spaceship shooter, but does it work?

A fond farewell to the last generation

Opinion by Nick H.

It's hard to believe the next generation of consoles is right around the corner. I suppose a fair point could be made that the Wii U actually kicked that generation, though many people felt it was more of a midway pit stop than a full on upgrade in technology. Am I excited to get my hands on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controllers? Absolutely - but there was a great deal to love about the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well.

Review: The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1 - Faith (Xbox 360)

Review by Nick H.

Telltale Games has earned a really nice reputation for being able to first and foremost tell a really good story. Now, with its newest release I have never read the Fables comic series that The Wolf Among Us was based on, so I came into it with a completely clean slate. With no prior connection to the characters or stories, I found myself immediately hooked on the story in this game, and had no difficulty following what was happening or investing myself in the colourful cast of characters.

Strider is looking very sharp so far

There has not been a lot of information about Strider released yet, but Capcom has shared out some new screens of this upcoming HD remake.

Screens of Dragon Ball Z's customisation options

There have been a lot of action and cinematic screenshots released by Namco Bandai for its upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z title for the Xbox 360, PS4 and Vita. This is the first really good look I have seen of the character customisation screens however.

Loads of new Dragon Ball Z screenshots

Here are a bunch new screenshots from Namco Bandai's upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. It was also announced that if you purchase the game day one, you will get a download code for a free Naruto Uzumaki sage costume.

Metal Gear Solid; focusing in on the boobs, yay or nay?

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain garnered a lot of attention when it was first teased, and now the prologue Ground Zeroes is starting to draw quite a bit of attention as well - but the big question is, is it drawing attention for the right things?

The visuals look amazing, and the promise of 60 frames per second is obviously nice, but Kojima's recent comments that they wanted to make the upcoming character Quiet to be more erotic and sexy raised a few eyebrows.

Nothing about the whole "shooting the living bejeebus out of enemies" bit, of course. It's the sexiness that is a threat to our global morality.

Review: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Xbox 360)

Watching the Splinter Cell franchise develop from its Playstation 2 genesis is like watching the very industry itself go through its stages from that generation to the end of this.

Those wonderful, early Splinter Cell games were for their time an incredible achievement in stealth gameplay. Back in the PS2 era developers were producing a wide range of different experiences for the headline game portfolios, and Splinter Cell was in some ways quite experimental. Combining a likable lead hero with some linear levels that always felt open thanks to the variety of ways in which players could approach challenges, the early Splinter Cell games were about as subtle as material gets when it carries the Tom Clancy branding. Here was a set of games that rewarded patience and strategy, while straight-up gun fights rarely ended well.

Review: Rayman Legends (Xbox 360)

I thought it would be tough to follow on from Rayman Origins. That game brought Rayman into the era of HD gaming in spectacular style, with the gorgeous Ubi-art framework creating a vibrant world and a standard of animation that hadn't been seen previously - even Nintendo's studios have struggled to keep up with the various Mario and Donkey Kong games.

That framework was supported by some stunning level design, a near-perfect mix of challenge and accessibility, and a truly wonderful range of characters. It was always going to be a tough act to follow.

Prepare to lose your Soul - again

Of course, the real test will come when it is time to play the game. Here everything is visually detailed and interesting, but some of the screenshots certainly help convey the sense of menace and often times oppressive atmosphere.

Lightning strikes soon

I know that Final Fantasy XIII is not a series everyone enjoys, but I certainly had fun with the first two instalments and am looking forward to this final chapter in the series. Square Enix is slated to release this title in Japan on November 21st, North America on February 11th and in Europe on February 14th.

The new look Xbox One is a marketer's nightmare

As a quick summary for the people that haven't been following the Xbox One that closely; it's a console that was originally announced as always-online, would not play second hand games and required Kinect to work.

Ready to battle it out? Dragon Ball Z thinks so

We've got over a dozen screenshots of the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z game from ArtDink and Namco Bandai.
