Trailer: If you have a PS4 and like balls, this game is for you

Ripstone has released a trailer for its upcoming PlayStation 4 title, Pure Pool. This game comes to us courtesy of developer VooFoo Studios, who also produced the excellent Hustle Kings, and I'm going to be honest with you, I've never seen balls that look this good.

Ashes Cricket might be dead, but Big Ant reminds us that Bradman lives

A cheeky little email was dropped in my inbox this morning; Aussie-based Big Ant Studios has responded to the tragic news that Ashes Cricket 2013 is dead by releasing a new trailer for its upcoming Don Bradman Cricket 14 and reminding us that there is another cricket game on the way.

"Don Bradman set to save the Ashes" is the headline to the email. Cheeky indeed.

Trailer: Unepic for Wii U looks pretty awesome

As a big fan of D & D, faithful attempts to parody the experience have always appealed to me. After all, the whole concept of suiting up awesome armour and descending into the inky black of a dungeon to slay orcs, trolls, and dragons is timeless, but it's also quite silly.

Classic RPG gaming, Avadon 2, launches to PC on October 30

If you're a fan of RPGs and you haven't experienced a Spiderweb Software game at least once, then you're doing it wrong. This little indie developer has, for years, churned out classic RPG after classic RPG.

Who wants more Persona 4?

Okay... that title could be seen as misleading - it's Persona 4 Arena, with an update for the arcade first (they still have those in Japan, believe it or not), but later the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Dear Square Enix: please localise Dragon Quest X on iPad

Dragon Quest X was initially a Nintendo Wii game. Then it was ported to the Wii U and PC. Now it's being released on the iPad. Is this our best chance for the game to finally be localised in English?

Prepare to Sacrifice Souls again

We are big fans of Soul Sacrifice, but I admit when I saw the additional word 'Delta' added to the title, I thought we were in for an updated version of the game, like Raganok Odyssey added Ace to its proper title and is planning to update for the Vita.

Some NBA 2K14 tidbits

NBA 2K14 is gaining a head of steam as we inch closer to the start of the NBA season.

Lightning Returns - Trailer, images and returning characters

Most of the characters shown so far for Lightning Returns have been those from the first Final Fantasy XIII, such as Snow (though he was briefly in the follow-up). Here we have a variety of screenshots, but in a few of them Caius and Yeul can be spied from XIII-2.

Trailer: Assassin's Creed IV makes pirating look glam

Ubisoft has released the second in its "Black Flag Diaries" video series; essentially trailers for the game with the developers talking about how awesome it is.

Trailer: XCOM: Enemy Within gameplay walkthrough

I suspect that just about all of Digitally Downloaded's readers are looking for XCOM: Enemy Within. After a rather decent effort at changing up the tactical gameplay of the series for some shooter action in The Bureau, it is downright refreshing to know that 2K Games understands that people want more turn-based strategising.

In this latest trailer, 2K Games lead designer, Ananda Gupta, walks players through some of the the new weapons, abilities and maps that players will fight over in this massive expansion. And when we say "massive," we really do mean massive. This piece of DLC is so large that 2K games can't release it as DLC on the consoles (PS3 or Xbox 360). We assume that means the rather excellent iPad version is going to miss out as well.

Still, for PC gamers "more, bigger and better" should be more than enough to sell you on the game.

Lightning strikes soon

I know that Final Fantasy XIII is not a series everyone enjoys, but I certainly had fun with the first two instalments and am looking forward to this final chapter in the series. Square Enix is slated to release this title in Japan on November 21st, North America on February 11th and in Europe on February 14th.

New Pokemon? Gotta catch all these screens, art and trailers

Pokemon has proven to be one of Nintendo's most endearing franchises over the years, with fans of all ages enjoying the combination of RPG elements with critter collection. Game Freak will be releasing Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS in North America, Europe and Japan on October 12, 2013.

Hunting for more monsters - some screens and a trailer

Capcom has been releasing a lot of screens and information about its upcoming 3DS Monster Hunter title, but now we have a new trailer and a handful of additional screenshots for their PlayStation 3 and Wii U game.

Capcom is bringing my childhood back in HD

I loved Strider on the NES when I was younger. It fell just behind Bionic Commando and Mega Man 2 as one of my favourite Capcom titles. Well, Strider is coming back in the first part of 2014, courtesy of Capcom and Double Helix Games.

A nice new Killer is Dead trailer

I know quite a few of us here at Digitally Downloaded are fans of Goichi Suda and have been following the upcoming Killer is Dead closely.
