Tiny Brains sets itself up as an action/ puzzle game that tackles a lot of physics-based problems while showing off an amusing sense of humour. The world is seen from an angled overhead view, giving you a look at your tiny little abominations, which are attempting to break out of the lab of a mad scientist who imbued each one with specific super powers.

The premise is ridiculous, but often hilarious at the same time. I spent most of my time playing this with my son, while my youngest daughter watched, but the game is both cute enough and approachable enough that she enjoyed playing it with me as well.

If there’s one thing I lament about owning a PS3, it’s the lack of party games that the system has to offer. Sure, there’s the long-running Buzz! games, and the upcoming Sportsfriends is sure to be a blast, but there aren’t many options if you want to round up a group of friends and enjoy a night of beating each other into a bloody (virtual) pulp (you did forget PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, dude - ed).

That’s where Atomic Ninjas comes in.

There hasn't been that many free-to-play games on the PS3 to date, but those that are there are generally definable as console games. Titles like From Dust and DC Universe Online are free-to-play, and haven't necessarily been well received by the PS3 gaming community, but they are at least on a superficial level a full console title.
