Samsung Exec SCH-i225 – A Business-minded Windows Mobile Smartphone
The Samsung Exec SCH-i225 is the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone arriving on U.S. Cellular. It is a 3G capable handset made for mobile professionals, as it boasts an easy-to-use physical keyboard along with Mobile Office, Microsoft Exchange support and a load of business and productivity features.
At the first sight, the Exec resembles the Samsung Code, another smartphone running the Windows Mobile platform. They both have a full QWERTY keyboard and a 2.4" (320x240 pixels) TFT screen display with Samsung's WizPro home screen. They also share the same navigation buttons. At 4.61" high by 2.36" wide by 0.45" deep and 3.7 ounces, the Exec is perfect for slipping into your bag or pant pocket.
Like other Windows Mobile based devices, the Exec offers everything you need to manage work outside the office. You get Office Mobile Suite for creating and editing Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, Direct Push for real-time personal and corporate email delivery, Outlook synchronization, Internet Explorer Mobile with Flash and the Bing search engine. There are also some additional features such as the MyPhone backup service, an Adobe viewer and an RSS reader. And of course, you have access to more applications on Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
The Exec is not only about business. It also includes a social networking widget for one-touch access to popular communities like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Besides, you get a full messaging suite covering SMS, EMS, MMS and Live Messenger. With Windows Media Player 10, you can enjoy music as well as MPEG 4, H.263, H.264 and WMV videos. There is a 2.0-megapixel camera for snapping photos and video clips.
The phone only has 79.8MB of user memory, but it also comes with a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 32GB. Apart from the aforesaid, stereo Bluetooth, A-GPS, USB mass storage, speakerphone and voice commands are also onboard.
