T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide – Gives You the Perfect Balance between Work and Home
Available in black, red and white, the MyTouch 3G Slide is a bit chubbier (4.55" high x 2.37" wide x 0.6" deep) and heavier (0.6 ounces) than its predecessor. However, it features a 3.4-inch HVGA 320x480 capacitive touchscreen with a four-row keyboard and an optical touch pad, making the weight gain trivial. The screen supports multi-touch gestures and works with the built-in accelerometer, light sensor and proximity sensor. If you don't want to use the physical keyboard, you can also type on the onscreen portrait, landscape or Swype keyboard.
The new MyTouch uses HTC Sense as its user interface, so you will find the "Scenes" profile feature and the "Leap" thumbnail view. Aside from these, there are three unique additions. "MyModes" switches your home screen with different backgrounds, ringtones and so on based on time or location. "Faves Gallery" puts up to 20 of your favorite contacts to a place, and lets you instantly see their latest updates and communicate with them. Last but not least, the phone comes with a 'Genius Button' for voice commands, allowing you to make calls, send messages and search the Web with your voice.
As a device designed for texting, the MyTouch 3G Slide offers a complete set of messaging options. It supports text and multimedia messaging with conversational view, instant messaging, as well as POP/IMAP email and Microsoft Exchange. You will also find the standard Google services, including Gmail, Google Talk, Google Search, Google Maps with Navigation, Youtube and QuickOffice. The phone is integrated with a 5.0-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, digital zoom and video capturing capabilities. There are also an Android music and media player, a full HTML Web browser with Flash and a 3.5mm headset jack. Using the DoubleTwist software, you can easily transfer media files between the phone and your computer. In addition, the MyTouch 3G Slide is equipped with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AGPS. It includes 512MB of flash memory and supports up to 32GB of additional memory via a microSD card.
