HTC HD7 – Your Ultimate Multimedia and Social Networking Hub

Meet the HTC HD7 for T-Mobile, one of the first smartphones to run on Microsoft's revamped Windows Phone OS 7. Sporting a huge and high-resolution screen display as its defining feature, the HD7 is a device destined for optimizing your texting, video watching, gaming and Web browsing experience.

With the extra size and weight brought by its 4.3-inch (480 x 800 WVGA) touchscreen, the HD7 is reasonably large (4.8" high by 2.68" wide by 0.44" deep) and heavy (5.7 ounces). While the screen dominates the whole front of the smartphone, a metal kickstand is built in on the back to prop the device on a desk at your desired viewing angle. And apart from pinch-to-zoom ability, the display is also integrated with a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor.

Windows Phone 7 brought a number of advanced features to the HD7. One of the features specific to the device is Live Tiles, a unique Hub and Tile interface that gathers applications, services and content into a single view on the home screen. This way, you can know what is going on without opening an application.

The multimedia and gaming abilities are definitely the strongest aspects of the HD7. Music and Videos Hub powered by Zune lets you listen to radio, download music, and more; Pictures Hub lets you see and share photos from your camera, Facebook and Windows Live; and Windows Phone 7's Games Hub offers popular games from Xbox Live, Microsoft Game Studios and so on. Enabled for 3G, the HD7 also allows you to browse the Web at lightning speed with the full-HTML Internet Explorer 8. Bing Search and Bing Maps are onboard as well.

Additionally, T-Mobile has thrown in a few extras of its owns, including Netflex, T-Mobile TV, Slacker radio, while HTC has added HTC Hub, where you will find a 3D weather display widget, Photo Enhancer, Sound Enhancer, and many other downloadable apps. All these media goodies play well with the smartphone's big screen.

For business professionals, besides Microsoft Exchange e-mail and calendar, Office Hub is fully incorporated into the smartphone to give you the ability to view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents on the go. You also get OneNote for gathering information and SharePoint Workspace for sharing documents.

The HD7 comes with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera that supports dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording. GPS is integrated to work with the pre-installed TeleNav GPS Navigator. You also get a 3.5mm stereo audio jack, a digital compass, text and multimedia messaging, voice dialing, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 16GB of non-expandable memory.

The HTC HD7 is a multimedia and gaming powerhouse that brings a world of fun to you. If entertainment is as much important as talking and texting to you, the HD7 would be the smartphone you need.
