BlackBerry Bold 9930 – Delivers Incredible Performance and Effortless Style
Running BlackBerry 7 OS, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 for Verizon Wireless is the latest addition to the popular Bold series. The new Bold sports a refreshed design, a faster processor and loads of powerful updates, giving it a firm spot in the already crowded smartphone category.
Built upon BlackBerry's typical slab design, the Bold 9930 is wider and slimmer than its predecessors. In fact, at only 0.41" thick (by 4.53" high by 2.60" wide), it is the thinnest BlackBerry ever made. And at 4.59 ounces, it won't weigh your pocket down at all. However, what makes the new Bold truly special is that apart from the iconic optical trackpad and physical keyboard, RIM has incorporated a capacitive touchscreen (640 x 480 pixel resolution at 287ppi color) into the device, making it the first Bold to have touch capabilities. The 2.8" screen features pinch-to-zoom gestures and also works with a proximity sensor.
Thanks to the latest BlackBerry 7 software, the Bold 9930 boasts a number of new and appealing features, including faster graphic processing, augmented reality apps, BlackBerry Balance, voice-activated universal search, and full HTML 5 Web browsing. Besides, the phone has built-in NFC, a convenient application that lets you use the phone to purchase goods or services.
In addition to the above goodies, you will find a bunch of enhanced communication necessities you would expect from a BlackBerry device. You get full messaging capabilities, covering text messaging, multimedia messageing and instant messaging (Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk). You can access your personal and corporate e-mail accounts. As for social networking, there are Social Feeds along with Facebook and Twitter clients.
Moreover, the Bold 9930 comes with an array of pre-installed apps. They include Documents To Go Premium, password keeper and Wikitude, as well as some from Verizon, such as VZ Navigator, Visual Voice Mail, NFL Mobile, VCAST Media Manager, VCast Music and VCast Video. More apps are available from BlackBerry App World.
Another great update brought by the revamped OS is the ability to shoot HD video at 720p using the 5.0-megapixel camera, which supports LED flash and 4x digital zoom. You also get a media player that is compatible with various music and video files. Other multimedia-related features include BlackBerry's Desktop Software, a 3.5mm headset jack, a podcast player, YouTube and Slacker Radio.
The Bold 9930 also offers some more common features, such as speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, smart dialing, stereo Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, international roaming and mobile hotspot functionality. As for storage capacity, the device has 8GB of on-board memory, and is expandable up to 32GB via an additional microSD card.
With a classy design and loads of stunning features added by the updated operating system, the Bold 9930 is easily one of the best BlackBerry to date. Die-hard fans of the brand will certainly find the device hard to resist.
