Woman Killed in Costco Shooting

Two people have been shot at a Costco store in Loudoun County, Va., officials said on Wednesday afternoon.

A Costco food service employee, 38-year-old Mhai Scott of Sterling, VA was reportedly wielding a knife and scissors and threatening employees at the store, officials said.

Witnesses called the police and they showed up when the employee became threatening with the knife to police, officials said in a news conference.

Renee Haber works at Costco, saw she had a knife on her and was frightening her supervisor said the woman was "just making strange comments about the pizza." The Loudoun County Sheriff, Mike Chapman, says the deputies used a TASER on the woman, but that didn't really slow her down. That's when one of the deputies fired at the woman, police said.

The woman was killed, as a result of the shooting, and another deputy was shot in the leg, Chapman said.

The deputy who was taken to the hospital, is in good condition and has since been released.  Police are investigating the incident on the scene of the Sterling, Va. Costco.

Another witness, Robert Krause, said "I was at the front of the building I saw some officers run into Costco and a few minutes later there were some gunshots, about 5 of them." Source and More Details
