LG Versa (VX-9600) – A Touchscreen Phone with a Difference
The LG Versa VX9600 is unique and innovative in the sense that it contains two vastly different profiles – it can standalone as a touchscreen phone, or users can attach a snap-on QWERTY keyboard to the phone, making it a perfect messaging device. Such flexibility will certainly fulfill messaging needs of users at different times.
Easily attached and detached, the QWERTY keyboard is equipped with four full rows of keys, favoring quick and easy text entry. Without the keyboard attached, Versa weighs 3.81 ounces and measures 0.54" thick. But the device will, unavoidably, become heavier and thicker after snapping on the keyboard.
Another highlight of Versa is the animated 3D interface, which allows users to customize three different home screens, with different layouts with favorite shortcuts. The full-HTML web browser is also user-friendly since it supports Flash and RSS feed.
Carried by Verizon Wireless, Versa supports V-CAST Music with Rhapsody, so users can download songs over-the-air anytime. Favorite tracks, albums and playlists can also be synchronized from computer to the phone with a USB data cable. When a song is playing, music controls will appear on the Home screen; there will be a drop-down menu for picking other tracks without opening the music player.
Other features on Versa include integrated GPS that works with VZ Navigator and a 2-megapixel camera with face detection technology and image editor. There is a microSD card slot with up to 16GB support, but the slot will become unreachable if the QWERTY keyboard is attached. And also, the phone only comes with a 2.5mm headset jack. Users may need to get an extra adapter for connecting their own headsets.
