Tips to Make Cell Phone Battery Lasts Longer

Cell phone users always seek for different ways to extend the battery life on their cell phones since it can ensure the cell phone can be used as longer as possible. Take a look at the following tips. Simply make some adjustments here and then you can easily extend the battery life on your cell phone by hours, or even by days.

1. Turn off your phone when you don’t use it.
Some people may leave their cell phones on over night, so that others can reach them at any time. However, this will drain the battery for sure. If you don’t plan to answer phone calls while you are sleeping, or when you are staying in somewhere without coverage, turn off your phone. Cell phones, like any other digital gadgets, need a little rest.Similarly, turn off an application or feature on your phone if it is not in use. Running applications like Bluetooth, Wi-fi and other phone games will also deplete the battery.

2. Lock the keypad.
Most cell phones can be put into a power-saving mode by locking the keypad; no light will come on until you unlock it. With the keypad locked, you can prevent your phone from accidentally dialing out or turning on an application by unintended button presses.

3. Disable sounds and vibrating alert.
If you don’t find keypad tones essential, deactivate them. This will surely help saving energy. Also, unless you are in a meeting or in the cinema, turn off the vibrating alert and use ring-tones instead.

4. Lower the brightness of your screen display.
Most cell phone displays are automatically set to full brightness, while actually we don’t need full brightness to view the screen properly. Lowering the brightness of the screen display will definitely save plenty of energy.

5. Turn off your phone’s backlight when not in use.
Most people do not really need to have the backlight on since they always use their cell phones in areas with sufficient light. However, if you really need the backlight, it is better to keep the backlight time-out at the least, maybe just a few seconds.

Other than changing some of the phone settings, battery care is also an important issue to handle so as to extend battery life.

1. Fully charge the battery before first use.
It is important to note that all new batteries should be fully charged before first use to obtain maximum capacity. An initial charge will take around 12 hours.

2. Store the battery properly.
Extreme temperatures will definitely harm the battery. Therefore, keep the battery or your phone at somewhere cool. Avoid leaving it in a hot car or under sunlight.

3. Charge your battery correctly.
Different types of batteries should be treated differently. For example, unlike Nickel-metal Hydride (Ni-Mh) battery, Lithium Ion (Li-ion) battery does not need to be fully discharged before recharging. Regular charges should be applied instead. Correct charging will make the best use of battery, hence extending its life.
