T-Mobile Tap – A Low-cost Fashionable Touchscreen Phone

Designed by Huawei, the T-Mobile Tap is an affordable touchscreen handset targeted towards the younger generation. With 3G speed, touchscreen technology and a range of messaging and multimedia features, it gives you almost everything you would expect on a high-end device.

The Tap measures 4.2" high by 2.2" wide by 0.6" deep, which is quite petite compared with other touchscreen devices. At 4.2 ounces, it won’t weigh your pocket down. It features a 2.8-inch 262k-color touchscreen display that shows 240x320-pixel resolution. Supporting haptic feedback, the touchscreen will give you vibration when it registers your touch. On its home screen, you will find a widget tray with 18 widgets, putting key programs such as Google Search, Weather and photo gallery all at your fingertips.

As a teen-oriented device, the Tap offers an array of messaging options. You will find text and multimedia messaging support, as well as instant messaging clients for AIM, Skype, Google Talk, Windows Live Messagner and Yahoo Messenger. It also allows access to POP3 and IMAP4 email accounts like AOL, Yahoo and Gmail. Using the alphanumeric keypad or full QWERTY keyboard (landscape or portrait) on the touchscreen, text entry is quick and accurate.

Moreover, the Tap sports with T-Mobile’s web2go service for fast Internet browsing over T-Mobile’s 3G network. It connects to the carrier’s new download marketplace, where you can download ringtones, apps, games and more. Some already preloaded applications include Google Maps and TeleNav for turn-by-turn directions.

Several useful multimedia features are onboard as well. There is an integrated music player that supports various audio files, including MP3, AAC, AAC+, MIDI and WAV. The 2.0-megapixel camera can take high-quality photos and videos. You also get a built-in FM radio, proprietary mini-USB jack, 1,000-contact phonebook, stereo Bluetooth, voice commands, 256MB flash memory and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 8GB.

Comes in berry and midnight blue, the T-Mobile Tap is a stylish and compact phone packed with a set of good features and an easy-to-use interface. With its affordable price, it is imaginable that the Tap will become a popular handset among the young T-Mobile users during the holiday season.
