LG Voyager VX10000 – A Verizon-Powered Multimedia and Texting Powerhouse

Arrived on Verizon Wireless back in November 2007, the LG Voyager VX10000 has captured the hearts of many media fans with its cutting-edge design, gorgeous dual screens, comfortable keyboard and rich multimedia capabilities at that time. And even now, it is still one of the carrier’s popular mid- to high-end entertainment handsets.

Dominating the face of the Voyager is a 2.81-inch touchscreen that supports 262k colors in a 400x240 pixel resolution. Equipped with the VibeTouch technology, the display gives you tactile feedback when a button is pressed. Unfolding the phone laterally you will see a non-touch screen of the same size and resolution, plus a full QWERTY keyboard with widely spaced keys. It also boasts two stereo speakers for music listening and video watching. The clamshell has a weight of 4.69 ounces and measures 4.64" high by 2.12" wide by 0.71" deep when closed.

The Voyager is feature-packed in the media department. It offers Verizon’s 3G multimedia services, including V CAST Mobile TV for watching live TV, VCAST Music for downloading songs, and V CAST Video for streaming video clips. To enhance TV reception, there is a retractable antenna embedded in the phone. The built-in music player is compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+ files, and has the ability to sync with Windows Media Player. Furthermore, it boasts a 2.0-megapixel auto-focus camera/camcorder, an HTML web browser and Bluetooth support.

The phone also covers the messaging aspect well. In addition to text and multimedia messaging, you can use AIM, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger for instant messaging. As for its email program, MSN, Yahoo! and POP3/IMAP accounts are on board.

Other features include a 2.5mm headset jack, a 1,000-entry phone book, a one-touch speakerphone and speaker-independent voice commands. Being GPS-enabled, the Voyager works well with Verizon’s VZ Navigator. It offers 180MB of user memory and the storage is expandable via a microSD memory card up to 8GB.

From its sleek look to wide multimedia options to generous feature set, you will find the Voyager VX10000 a real fun to use.
