Get Your Message Through with Sanyo SCP2700

Released for Sprint, Sanyo SCP2700 is a slim and stylish messaging phone that features a great QWERTY keyboard, extensive messaging support and intuitive user interface, yet affordably priced.

Measuring 4.3" x 2.4" x 0.6" (H x W x D) and weighing 3.4 oz, the 2700 is thin and lightweight, so it is easy to carry it around. The candy-bar handset has rounded sides and edges, making it comfortable to hold in hand. The device comes in a clean and straightforward design, and is available in two colors, either Impulsive Pink or Deep Blue.

The key feature of the Sanyo SCP2700 is no doubt the nice array of messaging options. It is preloaded with various instant messaging programs, such as AIM, Windows Live and Yahoo messenger, as well as a number of email clients like Sprint’s PCS Mail, AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail. The phone also supports IMAP or POP accounts.

What’s more, users can receive corporate emails on the handset, either through the company’s Outlook Web Access, or Sprint’s Mobile Email Personal Account.

To work with these messaging options, the 2700 sports an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard, which builds it as a user-friendly messaging device. Keys are slightly raised above the surface, making it easy to type, and at the same time offering tactile feedback.

There are a few dedicated buttons that help speeding up text entry on the 2700. For example, it has a "Text" button to initiate a new text message, as well as an "Emoticon" key for bringing up different smiley faces and symbols. It also comes with some "web shortcuts", such as "https://", "www", or ".com".

The 2700 has a WAP browser on board for surfing the Internet. You can find a nice toolbar in the browser, which allows you to jump back and forward, as well as accessing the home page, a Google search page, and the list of recently visited Web sites.

Other features on the 2700 include a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, 2.5mm headset jack, MicroUSB port for charging and data transfer, and GPS support for location-based services like Sprint Navigator. The phone has 16MB internal memory for storage, yet cannot be expanded since there is no memory expansion slot built.

As an affordable messaging device, Sanyo SCP2700 is able to cover all the basics of messaging and phone functions, and will have no difficulty in keeping you connected with friends and family when you are on the go.
