LG enV2 VX9100 – Perfect for Text Messaging Fans

Handsets from the enV series, the high-end messaging phone line of LG and Verizon Wireless, always come with a unique form factor. You can have regular voice calls on a candy-bar phone, but you can also flip open the handset to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard and a larger LCD display.

Strictly following the rule, LG enV2 (VX9100) emerges as an advanced successor to the original enV, coming in a smaller physical size, together with a better keypad and richer multimedia feature set, targeting at heavy text message and media users.

The candy-bar handset is both thinner and lighter than the enV, with a dimension of 4" x 2.13" x 0.65" (H x W x D) and weighing 4.23 ounces, making it more comfortable to hold. However, the smooth accent on the top half of the phone gets fingerprints easily.

The front of enV2 sports a 1.45" TFT external display and a spacious keypad on a flat surface. Keys on the keypad are well spaced by curved delineation and provide tactile feedback. When flipping open the handset, you will find an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard and a 2.4" internal TFT display, which are perfect for all text message and email needs.

Besides having multiple shortcut keys on the QWERTY keyboard, the handset also has a "shortcut feature" – simply type on the keyboard will launch a new SMS or notepad message, which serious text message users will surely find impressive.

As a high-end messaging phone, enV2 supports a wide array of communication options, including SMS, MMS and Instant Messaging (IM) programs like AOL, Windows Live and Yahoo. You can also manage your emails on the device, either using Verizon’s email service, or via the Openwave WAP browser.

With EV-DO support, users can have full access to Verizon's 3G services like V Cast Video and V Cast Music. The phone supports MP3, WMA and AAC files and offers a 2.5mm headset jack, as well as memory expansion up to 8GB with MicroSDHC card. Users can also obtain audible turn-by-turn directions from VZ Navigator GPS system.

Other features on board include a 2.0-megapixel camera and camcorder that comes with a user-friendly image editor, and integrated Bluetooth profiles for hands-frees, A2DP, phone book access and data transfer. There is also a Text-to-Speech Technology, which enables the enV2 to read emails and text messages to you.

With lots of advanced features merging together in one package, enV2 is a worthy successor of the original enV. If you are fond of text messaging and emails on the go, LG enV2 will definitely be one of the best picks on the market.
